Zombies Plus Workshop

Just feel like jotting these down so here ya go.

Call of Duty[]

Okay. Can be a little dull, doesn't hold up as well as say, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, perhaps because it takes itself a little too seriously which has caused it to age worse due to other shooters taking this type of thing seriously and doing it better/more immersively.

Call of Duty: Finest Hour[]

First two levels are some of the best shit in any Call of Duty, top-tier easter eggs (shoutout to the giant apple and the ghost kid room) but hard as fuck with pretty much no check-points. Never actually beaten it.

Call of Duty 2[]

More of the first game but better. Still drags a bit and gets dull by the end.

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One[]

Technically inferior to its big brother but features better pacing and more compelling characters.

Call of Duty 3[]

Flipped from my least favorite to favorite of the original trilogy on replay. Combination of Call of Duty 2's technical strengths with Big Red One's writing and pacing.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare[]

Classic. Multiplayer still holds up surprisingly well, campaign still great. One of the most influential and important fps games of all time.

Call of Duty: World at War[]

More than just a Modern Warfare reskin, pushes the setting forward with its hardcore Saving Private Ryan inspired style, previously unseen in shooters at the time, and the little experiment called Nazi Zombies.

Call of Duty: World at War: Final Fronts[]

It's okay.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2[]

One of my favorite Call of Duty campaigns of all time, short but pacing is incredibly well done and is a blast from start to finish. Multiplayer was an unbalanced mess but filled with fun ideas.

Call of Duty: Black Ops[]

Fantastic campaign with a fantastic plot twist, the linear overly scripted style and design may annoy many but led to an excellently paced and well told story. Multiplayer is MW2 but less annoying and Cold War. Zombies returns, peaks at Ascension then goes downhill.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3[]

Campaign was dissapointing, perhaps worst of the trilogy, but still very fun and certainly not bad. Multiplayer felt like MW2 refined and far better balanced with some good additions to the progression system, such as weapon leveling. Spec Ops survival was no zombies but a fun addition.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]

Peak Call of Duty. One of the most ciminally underlooked campaigns in all of gaming, featuring unmatched interactive storytelling. Multiplayer was a step forward and fantastic version of the style Call of Duty had been moving toward since Modern Warfare 2, pick ten system and scorestreaks were brilliant. Zombies was sadly lacking, although Mob and Origins were incredible.

Call of Duty: Ghosts[]

Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh shit campaign, shit multiplayer, boring Extinction mode that did get better with dlc maps. Good ideas with multiplayer "squads" and character management that I do wish would be revisited in a better game.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare[]

Campaign was exceedingly average and didn't take enough advantage of setting/mechanics. Multiplayer is one of the best in the entire franchise, extremely underrated. Zombies was the best non-Treyarch zombies, unique and had its own identity as opposed to just feeling like a reskin of Black Ops 3 zombies, plotline and characters was decent as well.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III[]

One of the best Call of Duty games as a cohesive package. Most lacking area was multiplayer, which was still very solid. Campaign is underrated, although not as good as previous ones. Zombies peaked with this game. Entire package as a whole is damn good, wish other Call of Duty games (including Black Ops 4) would make the entire game as cohesively connected as this, only other shooter I can think of that pulled it off this well was Halo: Reach.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare[]

Surprisingly solid campaign. Multiplayer felt like a rushed reskin of Black Ops 3. Zombies was okay I guess.

Call of Duty: WWII[]

Campaign was about as exceedingly average as Advanced Warfare. Multiplayer felt bland and too afraid to give up modern Call of Duty crutches (like red dot sights) to have its own identity. Zombies had a promising start with the base game but dlc maps were boring.

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII[]

The best competitive Call of Duty multiplayer since Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 2, surrounded in too much bullshit. Terrible progression system for a year (fixed only after Modern Warfare came out) okay Battle Royale mode I guess, zombies was an overall good mixed bag, certainly not the amazing heights it was brought to in Black Ops 3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare[]

OOF. It tried so hard. Bad campaign. Multiplayer tried and failed to be an evolution, feeling like a step back in many ways. 64 player battles don't fit Call of Duty's style and are much better played in Battlefield. Haven't cared enough to try the Battle Royale mode yet. Sorry, I really don't like this one very much.
